Anime is fantastic on its own, but chatting with other anime lovers online or in person may dramatically enhance the experience. Some of the anime fandom’s longest-running debates revolve on whether some characters are more powerful than others, or who would win in a fight. While anime can convey a wide variety of stories to englobe almost any genre of fiction, combat-focused anime are among the most popular and commercially successful. As a result, it’s no surprise that fan discussions regarding which character is the strongest are common. The strongest characters in anime can be ranked when they are at their most powerful and capable. These are without a doubt some of the most powerful characters in all of anime.
81. Light Yagami – Death Note
If Light Yagami, the main character of the edge-of-your-seat anime Death Note, were to fight any of these other anime characters in a direct flight, he would be overpowered in an instant. Because of his brilliant mind and use of the lethal Death Note, he can destroy anyone in any way he wants as long as he knows their complete name.
In Death Note, Light effortlessly kills a large number of people and defeats practically everyone who attempts to figure out his evil scheme. With these supernatural abilities, Light is capable of defeating almost any other anime character with ease.
80. Mr. Popo
Mister Popo is the devoted servant of the All-Powerful. Except in the Namek saga, when he visits the hospital where Son Goku is receiving treatment to look for Bulma and show him the Almighty’s spaceship, which is located above Master Korin’s tower, and in Dragon Ball GT, when he tells the tale of the cracked Dragon Balls, he never leaves his master’s heavenly palace.
He initially appears in Dragon Ball when Son Goku, as a little boy, visits the shrine of the Almighty to train there after vanquishing the demon Piccolo. To meet the Almighty, he must defeat Mister Popo, but he’s unable to do so since Mister Popo anticipates all of his moves and counters them as he pleases.
79. Ruby Rose – RWBY
Ruby Rose is one of the newest anime characters, courtesy to Rooster Teeth’s successful series, yet others believe she isn’t even the strongest character in her own series. At first, Salem appeared to be the rightful owner of this accolade.
Ruby Rose possesses her own type of super speed, is a scythe expert, and has magical silver eyes that can freeze foes. She may lack the magic of nemesis Salem, but she has something Salem lacks: room to grow. Ruby is still learning how to achieve difficult feats, making her a powerful opponent whether she’s against Grimm or other Huntsmen.
78. Kenshiro – Fist Of The North Star
Kenshiro, master of the Hokuto Shinken, lives in a post-apocalyptic world after the nuclear war of 199X and the death of Ryuken, battling those who prey on the poor and vulnerable left. He has immense strength, an extraordinarily fine combat sense, and the ability to finish any opponent if he hits the right pressure areas.
While he doesn’t have as much of a character arc as other anime characters and doesn’t get much stronger over the course of his series, he is still a strong opponent who can defeat anyone if they let their guard down for even a moment.
